The Global Technology & Operations area within MetLife is seeking a New York metro-based Executive protection, Travel & Event security expert with at least 10 years of relevant experience. He or she will report to and work closely with the Head of Global Corporate Security on strategic and operational issues related to executive protection, Travel & Event security.

Responsibilities 

• Develops and maintains global framework for executive protection
• Develops and maintains global policy and manual for managing travel and event security
• Ensures program scalability based on threat/risk
• Oversees the entire organization for managing executive protection, travel and event security, including close protection, EP drivers and security vendors
• Ensures consistent application of world-class practices for protecting personal safety of executives and associates at events and while on travel
• Regularly conducts risk assessment in these areas, identifies significant security issues and updates MetLife’s approach
• Responds to imminent threats to personal safety of executives
• Communicates regularly on the efficiency and effectiveness of executive protection, travel and event security programs to senior leadership and other stakeholders
• Builds and manages a network of vetted providers
• Builds and maintains relationships with government agency, law enforcement and industry counterparts

Job Requirements

• At least 10 years of private or public sector experience protecting executives and/or dignitaries, including supervisory experience managing security organizations
• Strong record of achievement in protection services
• Comprehensive knowledge of current security and law enforcement techniques, processes, technology and security threats
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to develop an executive protection program, including writing detailed security plans and vulnerability assessments for executives
• Proven experience in formulation and management of threat assessments
• Bachelor’s degree required.
