We are sad to announce the passing of Joe Cerreto, father of long time member Carmen Cerreto.
1946-2015
Joseph, “Joe the Barber” Cerreto, 68, of Daytona Beach, Florida passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at his home. He was born in Newark, New Jersey to Dominic S. and Mary J. (Buonerba) Cerreto. He was a 1964 graduate of Belleville High School in New Jersey. He attended barber school in NYC and worked as a barber for 45 years in Nutley and Belleville, New Jersey. He married his high school sweetheart, Lucille J. Giordano in 1965.
Joe was most proud of their three sons, Carmen, Dominic S, and Joseph. Joe retired in 2009 and moved to Daytona Beach with his wife. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by his sons and three daughters in law, Janine, Heciara and Jennifer, eight grandchildren, Carmen Jr., Michael, Elizabeth, Joao, Dominic Jr., Anthony, Christina, and Jayne Paige. He is survived by his mother, his sister, Carmela Meglio and her husband Jay, brothers in law Bob Giordano (Susan Wohbold), Richard Giordano (Carolyn Magistro), sister in law Lori (Giordano) and Michael Ippolito and several nieces and nephews. Joe was an avid golfer. He won the 2012 Super Senior Club Championship at LPGA in Daytona Beach.
He also enjoyed playing cards, chess, pool and spending days at the beach. There will be a “Celebration of Life” on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the LPGA clubhouse, in Daytona Beach at 3:00 PM.
