Deepest Sympathy – Rick Zirolo

We are saddened at the passing of Rick Zirolo, of Paterson PD.    Deepest sympathy to his family.  Below is the obituary as printed in the Star Ledger.

Rick Zirolo, 59, of Cedar Grove, N.J., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011. Funeral services will be on Monday at 9:15 a.m. from Shook’s Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave. (Route 23), Cedar Grove. A Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Angels R.C. Church in Little Falls, N.J. Entombment is at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield, N.J. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.shookscedargrove.com. Rick was born in Paterson, N.J., lived in Hawthorne, N.J., and settled in Cedar Grove 17 years ago. He was a police officer for the City of Paterson, N.J., retiring in 2010. Rick was a member of the Paterson PBA Local No. 1, a member of the Italian-American Police Officers Association, and the Honor Legion. In his spare time, Rick loved going to his sons’ football games, and cheering the team on. He always was their biggest fan. Rick was predeceased by his parents, Almondo and Gloria Zirolo. He was the beloved husband of 15 years to Dawn Zirolo (Fiorentino); devoted father to Michael Zirolo, and Nicholas Zirolo, and loving son in-law of Nick and Marianne Fiorentino. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Cedar Grove Junior Football League, P.O. Box 65, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009.
