Fundraiser for Operation Shoebox 3-27-2014
Hello everyone,
Plan ahead! Mark your calendar! Bring your friends, co-workers, neighbors and family. Our good friend Pat Mannion, owner of Mannion’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, 150 W. Main St., Somerville, is hosting a fund raiser to benefit Operation Shoebox New Jersey on Thursday, March 27.
Attached to this e-mail is a flyer that you must download and print. Bring it with you. Give it to your server. After your bill is tabulated, Pat will take 10 percent of that total and donate it to Operation Shoebox . . . so, if your lunch bill comes to $25, OPSHBX NJ receives $2.50 – if your dinner bill is $50, OPSHBX NJ gets $5.
The steady stream of snowstorms has wreaked havoc with all businesses and restaurants downtown, so this is our way of trying to help Pat, who has been a supporter of Operation Shoebox New Jersey from the very beginning. He donated cases of bottled water and ice during our first summer packing in 2005 in downtown Somerville on a scorching hot day.
This 10 percent bonus for OPSHBX NJ applies to all lunch and dinner bills. Plan ahead, and if enough people show up, we can make a few hundred dollars. Maryann and I will be there, not sure whether lunch or dinner, but we hope to see you there as well. Bring friends, co-workers, neighbors, and please pass along the attached flyer.
