Due to large program the reading of new members and the roll call of officers
was waved.
-
President Schievella, recognized some friends of the society: John Comperatta
who is now a Chief with the Passaic County Sheriffs Department. Pat
Minutillo who is retiring as a Deputy Chief from Harrison Police and has
been appointed as Director of policy and planing for the Morris County
Prosecutors Office.

President Schievella, spoke about the past events of November and December.
The success of the Hospital visit’s, he also spoke about this year where
we went to shelters in Jersey City. President Schievella advised
the membership that at the executive board meeting held earlier, the board
decided to concentrate on more shelters for next year, because these people
truly have nothing and they really appreciated us coming. President Schievella
also spoke about our 1st where we sponsored a charity Christmas Party for
the Big Brothers & Sister’s of Morris County.

President Schievella thanked all the members that helped out at this party
and read a thank you letter from the Big Brothers & Sisters.

President Schievella, spoke about his disappointment in the out going acting
governor Don DeFransesco that he cut the funding for the Italian American
Heritage Commission.

President Schievella, introduced Rose Minoughan who spoke to the membership
about Police week in Washington DC. She advised the membership that
there are rooms reserved at the 4 Point Sheridan and to see or contact
her for more information. The dates are May 13th to the 15th.

President Schievella spoke about doing a picnic this year for the membership,
we are looking for a Saturday in July and some place in Union County.

Saturday night June 1st, 2002 we will hold our Awards dinner at Caldwell
College.

President Schievella spoke about the night at the races, Ron Sepe has been
appointed co-chairman of the race committee. Tickets will be
available at next months meeting being held in Union County.

President Schievella thanked all members for attending and closed the meeting.
