Yesterday, the Italian American Police Society of New Jersey said good bye to an amazing man. The funeral home was standing room only with family, friends, and officers from many police departments, as well as many from our organization. NJ Transit was well represented along with their Chief Trucillo. We want to thank our own Vince Nardone for being the most amazing friend and support to the family. Along with Vin, we will always cherish the time we spent with Al in the last few days of his life at the hospital.
The NJ Transit Police Department paid a special tribute to Al by organizing the logistics for the funeral procession with the local East Hanover Police Department. There were cars, motorcycles, and even police horses. Just like Al would want it to be. From Chief Trucillo to every member of the NJTPD, they displayed class and professionalism. We want to thank the Morris County Prosecutors Office for the amazing law enforcement procession through the viewing and for being there for the funeral as well. We want to also thank all of the departments that sent personnel and equipment to the wake and funeral.
Our organization hosted the repass luncheon for the family, friends and police officers at Ravello’s after the funeral. It was exactly as Al would have liked it. Lots of Laughs, hugs, stories and great Italian food.
