The Police Officer Written Exam is designed to gauge the cognitive ability, observational skills, and mental acuity of interested applicants. These are the traits that have been determined to be important to the effective performance of your duties as an Officer. In order to start your career in law enforcement, you will have to achieve a passing score on the Police Exam. While passing the written test is not a guarantee of a job, if you don’t pass the test you won’t even be considered.
Walk in and take the NYPD Police Officer Exam at the City’s Computerized Testing Center in lower Manhattan or downtown Brooklyn. Before taking the Exam please read the Notice of Examination (NOE)
Application Fee – $40.00 – Payable only at a Computerized Testing Center on the day of the test by credit card, bank card, debit card, or money order payable to DCAS (EXAMS) (cash or personal checks cannot be accepted)
